The 1st ChemClust Benchmark Study, which analyses the work of chemical clusters in the partner region, has been published and can be accessed here

The study contains a detailed analysis of the statistical data for the development of the chemical industry at regional level. The subsequent chapters are focused on a description of the work of the cluster organisations, classifying their driving force, composition of cluster management, degree of internationalisation and financing. The study also deals with how the clusters are promoting innovation as well as need for actions and future potentials. In conclusion suggestions for joint activities of clusters at European level in the areas chemical park management, innovation promotion and human resource development have been developed as well as joint positions towards EU Policies.

The ChemClust project partners have developed an update of the ChemClust Benchmark report, which can be accessed here.

The new benchmark now contains updated information on the development of chemical and plastic industry providing indicators for the partner regions from 2002 until 2010. The data are especially interesting for the analysis of the last years with special focus on the reaction to the world financial and economic crisis from 2008 to 2009.

The Interregional Cooperation Programme INTERREG IVC , financed by the European Union's Regional Development Fund, helps Regions of Europe work together to share experience and good practice in the areas of innovation, the knowledge economy, the environment and risk prevention . EUR 302 million is available for project funding but, more than that, a wealth of knowledge and potential solutions are also on hand for regional policy-makers.
